Air Heritage Museum - Beaver Falls PA

A few miles north of Pittsburgh is the Air Heritage Museum in Beaver Falls PA. Here you can get an up close look at vintage aircraft. They restore and maintain various types of planes from WWII and the Viet Nam War. The gentlemen who work there are very knowledgeable about the planes and are a pleasure to talk to.
Thanks guys. Thanks for preserving history.
Visit the museum or their website. http://www.airheritage.org

Orienteering

Now that my mountain biking days are over, I have found a new, great sport: Orienteering. It's cheap, fun, great exercise and it gets me back into the great outdoors. I went to a meet at Hartwood Acres this summer and loved it. Check out the club's website:

The National Aviary

If you like the zoo, you will love the National Aviary on Pittsburgh's Northside. There are some truly spectacular species of birds to be seen. Some in cages, others fly free in the room with you. Don't wear you best shirt. :)

The Pittsburgh Zoo

One of my favorite things to do is the zoo. Be sure to check out the new habitat for the Polar Bears. A tunnel allows you to walk underneath their pool.
The tiger cubs turn 1 year old this month. We watched them for half an hour as they played in the water.

The Carnegie Science Center (CSC)

The CSC, not to be confused with the cycling team. Located on the North Shore of Pittsburgh, The Pittsburgh Science Center is a great place for fun and learning. I saw "Wired to Win" today at the Omni Max Theater. After seeing this film, its going to be impossible to watch the Tour de France on a tiny t.v. from now on. There is so much to do at the center. The exhibits, planetarium, and the tour of the USS Requin submarine. http://www.carnegiesciencecenter.org

What is that thing on the roof anyway?!
